ASRock has unveiled its first power supply product lineup, featuring the Taichi, Phantom Gaming, Steel Legend, and Challenger series, which are targeted to provide cutting-edge performance to consumers.
ASRock showcases ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 compliant power supplies, targeted towards providing industry-leading performance
As we move into the era where next-gen computing hardware has hit the mainstream markets, the power requirements have also seen a decent rise, which is why companies like ASRock are rolling out new PSU solutions to meet the latest industry standards. ASRock has become one of the first manufacturers to announce a PSU lineup featuring ATX 3.1 connectivity, but not just this, as all three series, notably the Taichi, Phantom Gaming, and Steel Legend, will support a 12V-2×6 connector, which is said to be the next power standard, expected to be featured in upcoming GPUs by companies like NVIDIA and AMD.
Speaking of next-gen GPUs, ASRock’s newest PSU lineup is aimed at reducing the possibility of PSU burnout and malfunction, especially in high-power consumption cases. By integrating dual PCIe 5.1 cables in 1300W and above PSUs, ASRock enhances safety by distributing the power load during GPU operation, reducing the chance of connector burnout. With the quality and safety measures onboard, ASRock’s PSU lineup provides much higher operational safety.
The important point to note here is that ASRock has designed its PSU lineup, including all the series, to feature quality performance, mainly due to the integration of components such as Japanese-built capacitors in the high-end models such as the Taichi, Phantom Gaming, and the Steel Legend series, along with having Cybenetics certification with all of its power supplies, making the whole lineup a reliable one for consumers out there. In terms of the hierarchy, the Taichi series is said to be the flagship offering, followed by Phantom Gaming and Steel Legend.

Diving into ASRock’s newest Taichi series, this lineup is said to be the highest-end of all by the manufacturer, notably due to its premium design and integration of cutting-edge components. The series is reportedly certified for 80 PLUS and Cybenetics Titanium efficiency, guaranteeing you the best performance and a more durable one. The Taichi series is expected to be available in 1650W and 1300W models, providing ample power for upcoming GPUs such as NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090.
With such massive power dissipation onboard, ASRock has still managed to keep noise levels under control, as their PSUs come with Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ ultra-quiet certification, with noise level ratings being in between 15 dB and 20 dB, which is considered exceptionally low, especially with a power supply with such capabilities.
The use of all-Japanese capacitors, Infineon CoolMOS, and SiC SBD makes the Taichi series stand out in the market, and not just this, but the manufacturer is providing a 10-year warranty as well, making it a reliable option for the longer run. Interestingly, ASRock’s Taichi and Phantom Gaming series, which we’ll discuss next, features “PCIe 5.1 TempGuard & Dual-Color Connector Design”, which is designed to protect your power supplies from over-heating due to an onboard NTC sensor, ensuring complete operational safety.

In terms of the Phantom Gaming and Steel Legend PSU lineups, these are said to be the company’s mid-end offerings, but they stand out in their segments. Both of these lineups feature similar spec sheets, such as Cybenetics platinum and gold ratings, along with a fully modular design as well, but the key difference lies in the overall design language, with Phantom Gaming power supplies coming in with a more “flashy” look, while Steel Legend is targeted more towards minimalistic builds.

Phantom Gaming power supplies will come in 600W, 1300W, 1000W, 850W, and 750W power options, while Steel Legend will have 1000W, 850W, 750W, and 650W configurations. The advanced efficiency design, coupled with the use of high-end components, puts the Phantom Gaming and Steel Legend models on par with many platinum-rated PSUs in the market, providing exceptional reliability with a 10-year warranty period, as well.
These mid-range power supplies feature Cybenetics LAMBDA A acoustic certification, which makes these particular units ultra-quiet when mounted in your systems, featuring noise levels of around 20 dB, on par to what the top-tier ASRock power supplies come with.
ASRock hasn’t left out budget-focused consumers since their Challenger series is targeted towards providing the best value, with 850W, 750W, and 650W options. With 80 PLUS Bronze and 80 PLUS Gold certifications, this particular series is said to offer high-efficiency figures and decent pricing, making it an attractive option for mainstream builds. With a 5-year warranty period, budget consumers would surely love the Challenger series.

ASRock has yet to confirm the availability and pricing of its new PSU lineup, but the newer models definitely look much more equipped this time. Hence, consumers who are in the market for something powerful and reliable should definitely check out ASRock’s new PSU offerings.
