The RTX 50 series was finally announced by Nvidia during CES 2025, and PC enthusiasts cannot wait to get their hands on the upcoming cards. During the event, Nvidia also announced new technologies, including DLSS 4, the latest and improved version of their upscaling technology. DLSS 4 was easily one of the biggest highlights of Nvidia’s keynote, designed to help RTX 50 series cards gain significant performance improvements in several games.

What makes DLSS 4 special is its Multi Frame Generation feature, which generates up to three additional frames on top of the traditionally rendered one. While all RTX users can access DLSS 4, this specific feature will be exclusive to RTX 50 series cards. However, RTX 40-series users will also get access to enhanced DLSS frame generation. Nvidia also claims that its new frame-generation AI model is 40% faster and uses 30% less VRAM compared to the previous version.

The company shared a video on its YouTube channel showcasing the potential of Multi Frame Generation. In Cyberpunk 2077, with ray tracing enabled and both DLSS and Multi Frame Generation turned off, the game ran at only 27 FPS at 4K. However, after enabling these technologies, the FPS jumped over 240.

During CES 2025, Nvidia also claimed that the RTX 5070 will deliver performance similar to the RTX 4090. While its specifications alone don’t match the flagship model of the 40 series, it will likely achieve this performance with the help of DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation. In short, combining these technologies with an RTX 50 series card will provide users a significant performance boost in games.

List of DLSS 4 supported games so far

However, it’s important to remember that not every game will support DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation right away. When to expect support for more games?

Nvidia has confirmed that several upcoming games will launch with support for DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, while some existing titles will incorporate these technologies in the coming months. Day-one support is confirmed for games like DOOM: The Dark Ages, The Witcher IV, Black State, and Dune: Awakening. On the other hand, Black Myth: Wukong, which was released back in August 2024, will receive a DLSS Multi Frame Generation upgrade later this year, which will help RTX 5090 users get over 200 FPS at 4K.

Beyond these games, Nvidia has not yet announced additional titles that will support the new RTX technologies. However, we’ll update our list as soon as more are revealed.
