Ubisoft Connect app & Ubisoft games not working on GeForce Now

GeForce Now subscribers have been experiencing an issue where Ubisoft games are not working properly.
As per the allegations, a runtime error appears when trying to launch a game with the help of the Ubisoft Connect app.
In addition to this, users have also noted instances where the games are completely inaccessible. Notably, these issues have been troubling players for several days.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), multiple gamers are disappointed as they are unable to enjoy playing their favorite games on the NVIDIA GeForce Now.
Some claim that they keep getting a Visual C++ runtime error whenever they try to start the Ubisoft Connect launcher. Along with this, they assert that the launcher does not move past the ‘looking for patches’ screen.
And sadly, the issue pops up even when one tries to launch different games. While others contend that the Ubisoft launcher gets stuck at the loading screen.

They have also observed instances where the launcher screen would turn black and the Visual C++ Runtime Library notification would appear behind the login panel.
A player complains that they have been unable to run games like Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, The Division, Watch Dogs, and several others for more than a week.
Another gamer alleges that they get the error message shortly after pressing the ‘Play’ button on the launcher to start the game. Surprisingly, they are experiencing difficulties while trying to launch Steam-based games as well.

Since yesterday I have not been able to open any Ubisoft games on GeForce Now, the launcher that appears when logging into the account is always loading, and right behind the login panel, there is an error warning from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.Source
And this is without a doubt bad news for those who have access to a limited number of games, and that too only from the affected services.
Some have even questioned the point of paying 20 euros per month for services that do not get rendered properly.

Interestingly, a few gamers were able to solve the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the Ubisoft Connect app.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the NVIDIA support team has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently investigating it. Those impacted have been advised to try starting their games normally once again.

Potential workaround

Luckily, we have come across a potential workaround that might help solve your problem. It is recommended that you unlink your Steam account from your Ubisoft account and start a new GFN session with the game.
After this, enter your login details, but keep the ‘Remember Login’ checkbox unchecked to prevent caching of login information.
