AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU’s rumored gaming numbers show performance comparable to the RTX 4070 Ti & RTX 4080 Super using ray tracing.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU Gets Tested in Cyberpunk 2077 & Black Myth: Wukong: Delivers RTX 4070 Ti & RTX 4080 Super-Equivalent Performance on Native Resolution
New leaks suggest that the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU is as good as the RTX 4080 Super as was previously rumored. Suppose you have been following the stories revolving around the Radeon RX 9070 XT. In that case, you must be aware of this card’s supposed capabilities compared to its predecessors and the NVIDIA GPUs.
Today, one more leak emerged, revealing the performance numbers of this GPU. Today, Chiphell forum member and Editor, Napoleon, posted his results on two different games and compared them with the NVIDIA GPUs. As per him, the Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers equivalent performance to the RTX 4070 Ti Super in Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately, the thread has been deleted, but we have the screenshots.
The test was conducted with Ray Tracing On and without any upscaling. The RX 9070 XT delivered 85 fps at 1080p, 52 fps at 1440p, and 26 fps at 4K. Now comparing this to the RTX 4070 Ti S, we get roughly the same performance with some margin of error. The RTX 4080 Super comes out to be a bit faster with 19% higher performance at 1080p, 25% higher performance at 1440p, and 23% higher performance at 4K. CyberPunk 2077 RT, Native Resolution:
In the second test, the RX 9070 XT is on par with the RTX 4080 Super. The user “Apoleon” revealed that the RX 9070 XT delivers 97 fps at 1080p, 73 fps at 1440p, and 30 fps at 4K. This reveals a 2-10% performance difference between the RX 9070 XT and RTX 4080 Super, where the gap widens at higher resolutions, similar to what we saw in the previous test.
Compared to the RTX 4070 Ti Super, the RX 9070 XT here is around 7-11% faster. Do remember that these are the numbers on native resolution. We have been hearing about such performance leaks in the past few days and Frank himself confirmed that the RX 9070 XT is going to be faster than what we saw in the performance rumors pre-CES.
One should still take these results with a grain of salt due to the absence of any screenshots or any solid evidence that could prove this. We hope that the RX 9070 XT is as strong as appeared in the leaks. There are still 10 days left before its official launch, and we could see more reliable leaks in the coming days.
Update: the Black Myth benchmark results are without RT. So, we made the necessary edits.
