Several high-end gaming laptop models from ASUS and HP are listed on Best Buy, featuring Intel Core Ultra/Ryzen AI 9 CPUs & NVIDIA RTX 50 GPUs.
Nine Gaming Laptops with RTX 50 GPUs Listed: ROG Strix Scar 18 with RTX 5090 Costs Over $4000, Several Other Cheaper Models Listed as Well
NVIDIA partners have prepared their new hardware lineups, featuring the latest GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. Whether you want a gaming desktop or a gaming laptop, many OEMs have teased their newer hardware at CES and even before that. Now, surprisingly, gaming laptops have appeared on a retail website, while we still have several weeks left before the official embargo ends.
As you may know, the RTX 50 series desktop GPUs will start shipping on 30th January but the RTX 50-series laptop GPUs will only be available in March. However, the retailer, Best Buy, has already listed nine gaming laptops based on different RTX 50-series GPUs. Of course, you can’t buy them yet, but this shows that laptop manufacturers have prepared their inventory several weeks in advance.
As of now, most of them are from ASUS, but one model of HP gaming laptop is also listed. Thanks to @momomo_us for spotting the listings, revealing 8x ASUS gaming laptops and 1x HP Omen laptop model, which start at $1,899 to $4,199. At $1899, ASUS prepared the ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop, now with an upgraded configuration, featuring the RTX 5070 Ti and the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.
Then there is an RTX 5070 model as well but from the Zephyrus series, featuring the Intel Core Ultra 9 processors, OLED panel, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB storage. At $2199, ASUS has the same configuration as the ROG Strix G16 on the Zephyrus G14 but with a smaller 14-inch OLED panel and more RAM.
Then we have the HP OMEN Max 16, listed for $2699, featuring Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and an RTX 5080. The ROG Strix G18 also features the same specs and has a 240 Hz refresh rate display and higher capacity storage. Therefore, it’s also $200 more expensive. The ROG Zephyrus G14 also brings a similar configuration but with a Ryzen AI 9 HX processor paired with an RTX 5080 and a 14″ OLED display.
Exceeding the $3000 budget, there are two variations of ROG Zephyrus G16, both featuring an OLED 2.5K display, running at 240 Hz. While the CPU belongs to the same Core Ultra 9 series, the GPU is different in both. One has the RTX 5080 and the other boasts the flagship RTX 5090 GPU with 24 GB VRAM. The final and flagship one is the ROG Strix SCAR 18, featuring almost the same specs as the Zephyrus G16 model and retails for $4199.
