Regular Computer MaintenanceWhen you have a nice computer, there’s one thing that you should really know about regular computer maintenance, dust bunnies! When desktop (and server) computers are running, they will pull in dust from the environment. Most computers use dust filters to prevent the dust from getting inside the computer, but that doesn’t mean you never need to clean it. Over time, the filter will get clogged, preventing air from getting inside the computer, leading to higher temperatures and lower performance. To keep your computer running cold, fast, and quiet, make sure you take a can of compressed air and blow out the dust filters on a quarterly basis. Turn your computer off first, remove the filters, take them outside, and blow the dust out.You might consider a small handheld vacuum to save on recurring costs, and have more airflow (sometimes the air cans just don’t work very well).
