NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Custom Models From Gigabyte Listed, WindForce For €1229 MSRP, Premium Models Up To €1669

Finnish retailer lists several NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs from Gigabyte with prices starting at €1229 up to €1669.

Gigabyte’s Custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce GPU Listed for a Whopping $1700+ (Including Taxes)

The AIB editions for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 card are listed for sky-high prices. Like any other major NVIDIA partner, Gigabyte has prepared several custom models of the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU which are now listed by EU-based retailers.

The retailer is based in Finland, called ProShop, which currently has all the Gigabyte RTX 5080 GPUs live on the website, along with their prices. Surprisingly, one of those is at MSRP of the Founders Edition which is tagged at €1229. This is the RTX 5080 WindForce 3 OC card, which is listed at €1229 or US$1258, which includes a 20% VAT. This is the MSRP NVIDIA has set for the RTX 5080 in the EU region and without 20% VAT, the card comes down to around a thousand dollars.

The more premium editions such as the Gaming OC, AERO OC, and AORUS cards are much more expensive, at least by €190. However, the RTX 5080 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce edition is listed for a whopping €1669 or US$1708 with 20% VAT. Without taxes, the price comes to around $1423 in USD. This is roughly $400 more expensive than the Founders Edition and comes pretty close to the RTX 4090.

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB edition is also listed for a whopping €1639, which is aimed at enthusiasts who love to deploy custom liquid cooling. Do remember that most of these are OC editions, which means they will boast higher boost clocks outside the box. The FE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU brings a 2617 MHz boost, so, expect some of these to exceed 2700 MHz.

If you remember the RTX 4080 launch, you might also remember that it was one of the worst launches in the entire Ada lineup due to poor pricing, since it was priced at $1200. NVIDIA refreshed the RTX 4080 as a Super edition at $1000, which was somewhat better. However, at a $1400+ price tag for some of these models, the RTX 5080 looks like a bad value GPU since higher clocks and superior cooling alone won’t offer significantly higher performance than the Founders Edition.

There is still some time left before the official launch starts, so, it’s possible that the price might go down a bit for some of these editions or will likely remain as you see on the website. We have yet to see how other vendors have priced their NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 & RTX 5080 custom editions, which will show us how high these prices can go.
